Aram Olson - He’s In The Game

We admit it, EA Sports has a much bigger R&D budget than we do. That is the only reason we can fathom for why #43 Aram Olson has an 81-point ranking in their latest edition of their marquee college football game – NCAA ’09*. (Link to spreadsheet.)

What makes their research all the more outstanding – and, quite frankly, confusing – is that Olson does not appear to be on the team anymore. A quick peek at the official team roster does not list him.

By all accounts, Aram Olson never lived up to his 4-star billing. We are not in the habit of judging young men and we fully believe that Aram will go on to manage a Fortune 500 company, but as of right now we expect to see him in Scarlet and Gray any time soon. On top of that, Curtis Terry and a bunch of other non-fullbacks are trying out for that very position. So, what in the hell possessed EA to place Olson in the starting lineup and then assign him an 81-ranking?!

This is the time for us to admit that we do not play vids in the Buckeye Commentary newsroom. It’s serious business around here. But for all of you modern males (and possibly females) who dominate the joystick you can answer this question: What was Ted Ginn, Jr.’s rank his freshman season in NCAA 05? What about Beanie? Surely they had a ranking around 1021 in comparison Olson.

If any of our faithful readers are computer animation programmers, please immediately apply for a position at EA Sports. You will automatically know as much as they do about college football. Tell them we sent you.
